• Now the Day is Over #311:28

Psalm 121
5 The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand. 6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.

7 The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.

Worship Suggestion:

The sound file is looped.
1. As the song plays the first time, make remarks about the Lord watching over us throughout the day as well as while we sleep. We should meditate on the power of God to preserve us throughout the day and all through the night.  We should remember that He is right there with us and protects us with His grace and mercy.
2. As the song plays the second time, read Psalm 121.

Let the song end.
3. When the song restarts, sing all verses together.
4. Prayer and Meditation.

Now the Day is Over

Now the day is over,
Night is drawing nigh,
Shadows of the evening
Steal across the sky.

Now the darkness gathers,
Stars begin to peep,
Birds, and beasts and flowers
Soon will be asleep.

Jesus, give the weary
Calm and sweet repose;
With Thy tenderest blessing
May mine eyelids close.
